In northern Pennsylvania they had a really large rattlesnake hunt. I know it started at least as early as 1950s. But the environmental people got upset because they killed the snakes. But I remember the tons of rattlers that were on display, including a couple dozen live ones. They still have the snake hunt but no snakes are allowed to be killed, and the popularity of it has greatly diminished. Timber, that snake is being held by a bass fisherman. But it is a big-in. The biggest (dead) one I've seen is in a restaurant in Estil South Carolina hanging over the food bar. There are only two restaurants in that town, neither is real clean, but the food is great if you like real southern cooking. If you should be going by stop get some grub, and be thankful that monster rattler is dead. Seeing BIG poisonous snakes that were caught along trails is scary; like seeing big sharks swimming in 5 foot of water on public beaches. BEAR |
