Spot

I had narrowed it down to a Scope Chief and a Whitetail Expedition. I recently purchased a Burris for another rifle.....but decided to just use it for the .17. Thanks for the offer.

Except for the shopping Pretty damn sad when you spent $800 on a scope and rifle and they don't have the mounts.  What we need is Sportsman warehouse or a Cabelas to make to local's compete. As it is they seem to think they have the market wrapped up and feel no need to improve themselves. I always check locally first before I order via the net and haven't haggled over a small percentage cost increase. I wonder just how much they lose annually to online purchases. Maybe I'll find it tomorrow in Livingston.

Know just what you are going through. The locals in our 8500 pop community get all twisted when I balk at $4 - $10 increases in bullets, casings, higher reloading prices on Lee or Lyman, over Midwayusa or Cabellas's. Heck I want to support the local gun etc but not carry them. You are right " I can order it" gets old. I can order it too.

Hey Rob - I don't think that Bushnell makes the Scopechief anymore, but some places are still carrying the old stock, obviously until it's gone. One of our big mail-order places in Canada [Wholesale Sports outta Calgary, Alberta] shows Scopechief's [but only matte 3.5-10x40mm's] in their current catalogue.

Out of necessity I do a lot of gun related stuff by mail-order. Our local shop is a "one only" and is very pricey, on everything. A lot of is has to do with being the "only show in town".  Unless I need it "right away" which is virtually never, I will mail-order from Wholesale Sports. If I place an order on Monday morning, I usually get it by Friday of the same week. And since it's coming out of province I avoid paying our 7.5% sales tax, which more than covers any shipping. So I feel I get a deal twice!

Marcus.

Just a thought. I use a bush elite 3200 10x40 mil dot. It is made in Japan, titanium tube etc. It runs around 160 at cheaper than dirt. I have 2 and am getting a 3rd. They are made by hakko. great buy and a great scope you may want to try one of these even though they are fixed at 10, I mainly shoot long range stuff

Jay

I ran across that scope during some internet shopping. I can't say I was aware of it. It is a good value.

I looked thru a 3200 and a 4200 yesterday and they are as bright as any scope I've ever looked thru.
