If they go ahead with Wolf season as planned in MT, I'm thinking of getting one, just because it's so un-PC.

What do you think would be better .243 75gr vmax or 270 wsm with 90gr vmax.   Or would I be better off with the    135 smk in the 270 wsm. I've used both on yotes to longer ranges(600+). I'm thinking wolf shouldn't be that much tougher than yote.

Range would either be within 100 yds or across canyon 600yds+.

Your thoughts

can't go wrong with the .270, but i would recommend something that won't damage the pelt.

I would guess, they would taste like a coyote, since they both eat about the same thing, never been hungry enough to find out.   I figure if the Indians didn't eat it, I ain't going to.  I've eaten enough Indian food to know, they'll eat about anything.

Although lion and bobcat are pretty good smoked, a little on the lean side though.  You what they say "Tastes like Rabbit".  Bobcat's a little harder to stomach, pretty close to house cat after it's skinned.  Kind of like bear, looks too humanoid for me.  I have to make sausage out of mine.

I just want to get one and have it mounted, full body if I can swing it.  I have the perfect place for it, in new house I'm building, right around corner at top of stairs, when you came in, you would see it out of corner of your eye, just as you turned corner.

You know what they say, the best defense is a good offence.  I had to shoot, they were after my dog.

.270 would be my choice. Enough power if you need it at longer ranges. Good huntin', grayghost
