Here in WI we don't get too much hunting in the spring but there is the Turkey Time.....5 draw seasons from April thru May of 7 days each this year, up from the normal 5 days of years past. At one time we had to quit hunting  turkeys at noon with a 5 day season.  I "found" my turkey on the morning of the 4th day.  This  Tom was 20lbs, 9" beard, 3/4" spurs...gun used was a Mossburg 500 w/24"bbl/ported...factory Rem 3", #5 lead shot turkey load...full choke....gobble gobble BOOM!...

Nice!!

I'll have to give up a weekend of Turkey/bear hunting to kill gophers with the BOYZ...

You have to have them smoked then serve it to your guests at a BBQ Hopefully they will eat it ALL. Thats my receipt and I'm sticking to it.!

Remember: Four boxes keep us free ,the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, AND the cartridge box

I think smoked would be really good....sometimes make jerky too...grilled is ok if dun right.....put in freezer for family get together later in May.

My girls can't hunt turkey in spring but they came to admire and congratulate me on a fine hunt....then reminded me I owe them  a good hunt come fall....ducks and upland birds....my front yard.
