The first attempt to harvest my Swan went very nearly as planed--- No swan .The swans have not made it in to my part of the state but that never stops me from trying. We hit the water before sun up. The lake was VERY full ,the boat ramp was completely under the water. We splashed the tittle boat in and started across in the dark with only the GPS tracks from last year as a guide. Well It worked we didn't die or even get very wet.We covered the boat with our burlap blind and quietly set till it got light enough to shoot. Nothing. The geese where gone, the ducks where sparse, and Not one swan. We had one string of honkers fly near us,no shots, and there was just a few ducks moving. The kept us entertained. We did get 5 green wing Teal. Just like an alarm clock the wind came up out of the south west at 11:00 am so we made a haste retreat back across the lake before the waves could build too big. Loaded the boat and headed off to some pheasant spots. A lot of walking later we had one nice rooster and a Hun, that it for the day of swan hunting...
