I've seen data that includes WXR and WMR, but never listed together in the same place. Winchesters website shows the WXR but not WMR, are they different powders or not? I'm assuming they are different and the WXR is maybe an extruded taking the place of WMR possibly. I know WXR is the powder Winchester is using in the new mags and would like to try it for the fun of it, just wondering if the WMR is a typo or if its been phased out. Thanks.

I found a burn rate chart that lists both, the WXR being just a little faster. So the other wuestion remains, does the WXR become a substitute for WMR? I did e-mail Winchester for the haeck of it, I'll see what, if anything, they say.

Hey all, I just got a reply from Winchester saying they did discontinue WMR and WXR is basically its replacement. Phew.....now I can sleep again.

BKC;

Ya know, I've never used a Winchester powder in all the reloading I've done over the years.

CB, neither have I but I like the data they have for there new WXR powder, good velocity without peak pressure. If I can find some I'de like to give it a try. There are a few others I would like to try also, but they aren't available without special ordering and paying up the wazoo.
