   We just got back from our anual, well, about every other year, fishing trip to Lake Wapaweka in northern Saskatchawan. (sp)
We drove about 1200 miles to meet a guide from Northern Echo Lodge at a boat dock on the west end of lake Wapaweka. We then loaded all our stuff for a 40 to 45 minute boat ride to camp. 
It took us until about 3:00 the first day to find a spot on the lake where the fish were biting. And biting they were. 
This lake is not really known for great walleye fishing, but the Northern Pike fishing is like nothing I have ever seen anywhere else. Once you find a hot spot I would estimate you catch a Pike every third cast. I only caught one walleye, but we look at that as a bonus because we wern't really trying for Walleye. 
We stayed for 6 nights fished for 5 days caught alot of fish, The accomodations are first class, and had an unbelievable amount of fun. The only bad part is you can only bring home 6 Pike and 2 Walleye each person.  
I can hardly wait until next year, or when we can go back.
