I worked for Union Switch & signal company for years.  In ww2 they made a ton of 1911s.  In the 80s they were always at gun shows and yard sales!  cheap.

now they are a premium.

I had a 1911 back in 1960, paid $16 for it.  I couldn't hit anything with it in DCM competition.  I'm a better shooter now (maybe).

Rocky Mountain Sports has Tisas 1911's on sale for $399. 

I don't know about the quality of them but that's a good price.
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.
