I'm looking to send in my warranty info. There is a little booklet titled Warranty Card but it is not something like a post card you'd mail in. Looks to me like something ofr the owner to keep in his records. There is a post card type thing but it's all information crap about your choices as a consumer. It asks nothing about the item purchased, serial number etc etc. I also don't see any info from a USA based office to contact with questions. I hear their product is very good but their service sucks and I want to get this right. Looking deeper I kinda wish I'd held out for the Swaro binocular/rangefinder combo but it was an impulse buy after wanting one for a long time.

Rob,

I have had a set of BN's and still have my LRF 1200...

Anyway, there should be a mail in warrenty card and that small plack card you mentioned.  The warrenty card was a pretty big one with a list of things on it (interests) that you check off when you send it in.

I'd expect the mail in card to ask for info on the unit, serial # etc. but it appears if there is a problem you send that little card in with the unit. Sort of cheesy and I think you send it to Portugal, spelled wrong I'm sure. I like to deal with US based warranty centers.

Rob1,

Read the Warranty info again- 1st page inside back - left side as you open back page with folded in card - canada/usa contact info.

You are right the info they want is for future marketing.  It doesn't hurt to fill it out.

These cards/forms are getting smarter.  Often times the serial number and the chain of sale information is encoded (it is on the card already in a machine readable form).

I've never had a warranty denied because the card was not sent in.   Keep the receipt...that is proof of purchase date.  Most manufactures can tell you on the phone when it was made and shipped, so they give you a few months after that date....unless you have the receipt.

Leica binocular/range finders are very nice, I hunted them 10 years ago in Quebec for caribou.

I found the North American info. Listed under Nordamerika, must have missed it the first time amongst all the other greek to me languages. Still should have went with the Swaro's, I just assumed the price was way out there and they're only a couple hundred bucks more. Should work out fine though.
