Say it isn't so!

But it is!  And after I just dropped the cash for my VX III 3.5-10X - 40!  Aint nothing serious though - just labelling on the turrets and they'll take care of it for free, including all shipping!  Gotta love that Leupold warranty

You know Leupold will make everything right.  I'd keep it the way it is and screw with people at the range when you're sighting it in .
Y'all shoot straight!!!

Well, I've got 2 of these new puppies, and my brothers have3 more (one is on the way from Cabela's now).  we have our weekly meeting to BS and drink tonight.  Looks like this will be the subject.

Like Mountaineer I've got a new VX III 3.5-10X - 40 just mounted and bore sighted on my Kimber.

Well, I've decided...I'm not sending it back.  The problem only seems to effect weither you add or subtract when making dial changes.  Actually I noticed this problem when bore sighting the Kimber at the range, I added (when I should have subtracted); I thought it was all the drugs I had taken (legal).  I really didn't look at the dials then to see why it was wrong.  With just a little attention I can live with this on my big game rifles, as I seldom change the crosshair in the field.

It is nice when Leupold backs up there product this well on a simple non-function thing.  I remember when the Japanese Bushnells had their windage and elevation diresction wrong for about 3-4 years.  Boy did that casue problems at sight in day with some guys moving them correct and other moving them wrong.  I never hear of Bushnell ever recalling any of them, much less paying shipping.

Glad to hear that Leupold is doing this, as I plan to get the VXIII 3.5-10 for the 270 I bought.

Question:  I'll be using Leupold mounts and rings for it.  On a long action Winchester, the newer model Sporter LT, is there enough spacing with standard rings, giving good eye relief?  Or will I possibly need reversible rings?

I got my 270 scoped with my VXIII and sighted in.  I'm very impressed.  Mine didn't have the "incorrect" dials so I was o.k. and even if I did have the "incorrect" dials I probably would've kept it as is anyway - might be a collector's item someday!

Gunrunner, I used the standard rings on my Model 70 FWT Classic and didn't have any problems but I don't know how different (if any) mine is from the Sporter LT version.  Since the packages the mounts come in are re-closeable, I'd just take the gun to the gun shop and ask the dealer if it would be o.k. to try both mounts.  Just check with the owner before bringin the gun in.  He might think you're trying to get a 5 finger discount

Thanks Mountaineer, I'll do that.  The guys at the store are great and will most likely be willing to hellp me.

Hope your's shoots as well as it should.
