![]() Norinco M14. Has a USGI fiberglass stock and a Springfield Armory Flash hider, and I believe the rest is Norinco. I got it for $585, which around here is as cheap as these things come. It came with 6 magazines, 5 being cheapos and 1 being USGI. I have 4 more USGI coming in the mail. I am hopefully going to shoot it today and will be able to give you guys a rough range report. I haven't been this excited over a rifle in a looooong time. I have wanted an m14 clone for years, but could never get my hands on one AND have my wallet cooperate at the same time. I traded my Remington 742 for it. I am thinking about selling my Oly AR15 and getting a USGI bolt fitted to my 14, maybe a national match oprod and gas piston, and hopefully at some point a Criterion or maybe even a Krieger barrel. We'll see how she shoots first before I do too much. |

Looks good NH ! Ya also might consider a 5 round clip from springfield ! at least here in oregon, that would make it a legle hunting rifle. i would like to have a M-14, for lots of reasons. One of my work buddies carried one as a special forces guy 2 tours in nam. (if you think you know a bad ass this guy is also about 6'6" AND 275#) he carried one again when he was called up as an adviser in el salvador. anyway he could show me how to strip it down and care for it in a heart beat. I have often wonderd why nobody makes a kit to convert it to a hunting rifle . A 358 or 338 barrel easily switched back to .308. and a .243 varmint tube also. I think a picitiny rail on top is a must. ...tj3006

I am planning on getting a scope mount for it, but they aren't cheap. I am planning on getting one of those 5 round mags, though more for convenience than anything else. In NH it is legal to carry a beta-c mag while hunting as long as it only has 5 rounds in it. I was going to shoot it today, but decided to go rabbit hunting instead. Can't beat fresh snow. The beagle was working some real thick stuff and was chasing bunnies around in there, but couldn't bust them out of the cover, so no shots.

NH, before you invest a lot of money, get yourself a set of headspace gages. There was an industry warning about the Norinkos a couple of years back. The recievers were soft and subsequent firing opened up the headspace. Not saying that yours is one of them, I just want you to be a trooper and not have the gun go high order before you can. It looks nice though and maybe my warnings are just that. I sure hope so........Kingpin
