fellas... mulie season opens for me this weekend. i'll be gone for a day or two while my brother and i try to hammer a couple. been a year or two since my last mulie hunt, and being a mulie nut, i'm wound pretty tight over this.

next week my b-i-l will be reciprocating the drive i did to hunt w/ him, as he comes out here to try for his first ever mule deer. he's never even set foot on the ground we'll be hunting, relying on me to act as a guide/scout. lots of pressure on me over these next 2 hunts! my brother has hunted mulies w/ me before, but he's never busted a buck, and my b-i-l has never hunted prairie before...

wish me luck, please! really gonna need lots of it the next 2 weeks!

i know there's a few bsb'ers heading out this weekend... best of luck to you fellas!

Ok.   Good luck!    Hope all of you get a good one.

Are you going to use the Mustang again?       Actually, I guess that's how the Plains Indians did it.  They rode their Mustangs chasing deer.

Somebody better call the Secret Service. Let 'em know there's an illegal alien in the White House...and it ain't the cook!!

no... the area we are headed to isn't mustang accessible. at least in the black hills we could get the car down the main road, but not for the next hunt. also, we've had steady, constant rain all day today, so even if the roads were smooth enough, the car would get stuck... we'll be in one of the trucks this weekend, utilizing the 4wd to get close, then we'll be hoofin' the last mile or three... temps are going to be low enough that we may be driving over ice.

we still haven't figured out which truck we'll be in (77 f-150, 89 f-150, or 91 f-250) for sure, and i still don't know which rifle i'll be hunting w/... but, it makes no difference. one way or another we'll get there, and i'll have a gun. just not sure which, yet (leanin' to the 89 f-150 and carrying the 338, but the 7 mag and 77 f-150 is a strong contender)...
