Fella's

As noted in another thread, I shot the new Ruger 10/22 deluxe this past weekend.  It was wearing the Leupold 4X rimfire.

So, I ordered the Sightron S1 rimfire, but it's probably going to go on the 10/22 deluxe rather than on the Savage.  The Savage will get the Leupold and a decent set of rings.  That should allow me to mount the much smaller Loopy without the adapter base & make the whole package look a lot cleaner.

The Weaver saddle mount base/lower ring set-up will stay on the Ruger for the time being, but I can foresee spending some money for a clean looking set of bases & rings for it also.

If the Loopy doesn't work on the Savage, I'll almost certainly pop for another Tasco 2.5-10 Varmint with the A/O & mil-dot.  I really like the mil-dot reticle for gopher shooting, but had problems with the repeatability of the previous Tasco's turret adjustments.  Besides, getting that piece of glass on the Savage required all sorts of mounting gyrations.

In any case the Sightron should be here Thursday.

If you haven't used Sightron, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I've only bought one that I topped my 7 RUM with and I absolutely love it.  Clean, clear scope that was just a little cheaper than a Leupold.

Hope you have similar findings!
