Hey guys, what do you think about the Leupold m8 series of fixed power scopes? I really like leupolds, and if i was to switch over to fixed power these are the ones that i would switch to. I am mainly looking at the 4x33 for my .30-06. If i could get it, i would probably switch to the leupold dot vs. the duplex. It just seems like a nice hunting reticule.

NH, the M8 is a great scope, and I understand your choice of 4X (heavy woods?) Here in Va Beach they opened up a new, rather extensive sport shop. It's called Galyans. I noticed that they had VX1's for $199. I am not sure if it's a real deal or not, but for that kind of money, I'd buy one. Before you actually buy the 4X, try a 6X. I prefer a little more magnification, even in thick woods, and it's not too hard to get the hang of it. I also like the dot reticle. I have a few 4 plex reticles, but I stopped buying them as the dot is a lot easier on the eye.......Kingpin

I already have a vx1 2-7x33 that i bought for 199. I just kind of want to simplify a little bit.
