Any flathead fishermen on here?

Im decent with channel cats, however, looking to get into flathead. There are a few tournaments this summer I want to try. Tips are appreciated.

Thanks!

Can't help much on flatheads.  I'm fishing for gafsail cats today.  shimmy, but delicious.

Flatheads like deep pools in slow moving rivers, especially at bends where log jams have occurred.  Like channel cats, they will hit trolled lures

Up here in MT it's channel cats. Although bullhead and rock cats will eat all your bait. My L-G-D, LOVES to catch bullhead. Not my favorite; my hands get so poked up I can't hardly fish.
Right NOW is the best time up here to fish—as soon as the ice is mostly gone.Beer

I have been fishing Indian lake in Central OH mostly the past few years.  Occasionally we hit local park ponds that used to be farm ponds.  Then sometimes Great Miami in Franklin, OH.
