Yup, I've got a new model 70 Classic stainless LHB in .30-06 with BOSS. Because of the LHB factor, it took almost two years from order to completion. I put it in a McMillan stock & topped it with a Leupold VariX III 3.5-10 50mm.
If I had been able to get another model 70 LHB in .338 I'd have ordered it instead of getting the Tikka. But Winchester hasn't seen fit to keep it in the catalogue, so Tikka gets my money. Not like I didn't try to keep it in the USA though.

I saw it today for the 1st time. I got to finish paying for it before they'll let me take it home. But, I've got to say that I'm diasappointed in the wood. On the left side of the action, below the ejection port, there is a branch. It runs verticaly across the normal fore-aft grain of the stock. On a .338 magnum!!??
The store bent over backwards to make this happen for me, & really, it's not their fault. What would you do?

Oh, I'll honor it alright. I was just wondering if you thought it would be ethical to ask them to see if the distributor had another one that maybe they could swap it out for. Hell, I'd even pay the transportation costs on that one.

CB,Yep.I dont see no harm in that.Heck if you pay the shipping they aint out nothing.Of course,it might be hard to find another one but its worth a shot if you`re dissatisfied.Gene
