The best combo in my Ruger with a 165 gr is the Hornady BTSP pushed by a charge of Reloader 19 ...Winchester brass and federal 210 primer.

I have been shooting a Ruger .30-06 M77 for over 15 years with 57gr's of IMR4831 and hornday 165gr. btsp with Rimington brass and CCI primers. At 100 yards groups less than 1/2 inch. I have taken a lot of deer over the years with this load.
