Do any of you bullet casters use a flux?
Sawdust I here works. Wax and grease works (?) but can smoke and take tin out of your mix.
Can a person use powered Graphite?
It's all carbon and that's what happens to sawdust. I'm going to try it.

Candle wax. Nothing scientific about my method or timing.
Endeavor to persevere.

I have 5 pounds of graphite I use to tumble lead shot.
It sounded like it's the carbon that is needed as a "Flux"
SO I put in about a table spoon May be to much, of the graphite after the lead was melted and before it got "HOT".
I ran it about 750* no smoke and NO slag on top.
It seemed to work very well, the bullets came out looking great, I did 160, they cast right at 303/304 grains. I'll size them to .452 later and press on the gas checks. It's snowing again we may get an inch this time but it's BUT cold -10 right now and some wind.Clap
