I brought all of my eastern usa dry mayfly patterns with me to Ca,I listened to the 'experts' tell me I could only use a black ant or mosquito in CA.They were wrong I hammered trout with all of my eastern dryfly patterns in streams, lakes & rivers: Light   Cahill ,hendrickson, royal coachman, grey fox & creme variant of the grey fox, blue dun, blue dun variant, olive dun, stone fly, quill gordon, etc I had patterns tied by Elsie & Harry Darby & Walt Dette from the Livingston Manor area of the Catskills of NY. I carry my flies & leaders in an aluminum Fye Box that I wear on my chest I bought it at Abercrombie & Fitch in NYC  40 some years ago.Darbees patterns are in AJ McClane's Fishing Encyclopedia. Used books are still available do a google search.
