Does anyone make a gloss finished scope?
Most all new rifles have matte finishes and evidently scope manufacturers followed suit. I have a few rifles that have a high polished blueing and decently figured walnut stocks and they would look better with a nice shiny scope.

No gloss scopes available, that I have seen in several years. Best bet is to find an older one in the classified ads.

I'll check a few garage sales this summer. I'm always amazed at what I find at garage sales.
Happy Easter to you guys too.

Good point about gun shows IBD.
They had our gun club show last weekend. The problem is I get sidetracked too easy. About 5 tables from the door a guy had a bunch of old Smith & Wessons. One of them was a model I have been looking for for a few years. I'm sure you can guess how that ended up.

IBD
Yes That's it. that is a very informative article about them. Mine is an early one. A lot of the early ones have a very interesting background. The only way to know is to get a factory letter that tells where and when it shipped from the factory. When I get that information, there is a couple guys on the Smith & Wesson forum that have researched these guns and know with a high probability where it went during the war and how and when it returned home to the US. I'll be sending in for a letter shortly.
