In the last two posts, I talked about load development and testing, said loads. I have settled on 75 gr (for now) HPBT and soft point flat bottoms. The speed is right around 3200 in my 20" 1x8 Ruger. I got some factory BLMs, 100 of each. In the development, I did try some 77 gr HP that shot about the same. I have shot over 100 rounds, and the rifle seems to be breaking in well. I was out testing a bunch of subsonic loads with my son today. It was COLD. 1* 5 mph wind, but it was over our shoulders, so the wind was just COLD, not bothersome to testing. The subsonic loads did not work well; he did have some tests with his 8x57 and 8.6, which worked out well. Back to the Creed. I shot in between testing some reformed brass (6.5 Creed), new 6.5 and 6mm is at least .25 cents less each than 22 Creed. loaded with each of the same bullet loads for each. They performed the same as the factory 22 Creed. BUT what I did notice and appreciated was the POI. They all grouped in the SAME spot. I sighted it in at 1 1/4" high at 100. I have not tried them all at 300 yet, maybe they will have different POI, but for now I think some real-time shooting and hitting p dogs and coyote to see my preference. I found a place that makes and sells Bulk bullets in 75 and 77 gr HP. There 1,000 - $166.00 16.6¢ per bullet. But an added twist I found and have ordered 80 gr tipped factory 2nds for $33 per 100. The 22 Creedmoor was developed around the 80 bullet. 80 gr would be better over 300 yards for sure. I'll give them a try before I order 1000 75 gr. Price is the driving factor for this gun. One P dog trip can take 200/300 shells.

That's awesome.
I only have 1 rifle that will shoot several different bullets accurately and to pretty much to the same POI. That will keep prices in check.

The biggest factor is twist rate.

Your right there bear.
A 8.6 western is a 270 with a faster twist. and a 22 Creedmoor is a 22 250 AI but with a faster twist.
