OK it starts the 1st and 1/2 hour before sunrise.
The boy is going to be neck deep in sea water for two weeks it looks like. The D-I-L is on a road trip to see here 93 year old GM, My L-G-D has not fired a shotgun yet, wife hate hunting.
That leaves me with a good buddy that cant hit a thing in the air and a B-I-L but he works 6/7 days a week. The buddy said NO and the B-I-L said he will get back with me, humm. I hate hunting by my self worst of all is ducks alone.
I may end up passing on opening weekend.
There is only local ducks here so far anyway.Ouch

I agree. I'm going to be missing a couple of my buds this year.
I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

DANG RAIN.
You would think we were on the east coast.
For Montana in the fall we are having a Monsoon!
Raining for a week it seams like. Over 2 3/4" so for in my back yard.
Anyway good for ducks I guess.
I got my B-I-L to go goosing with be this morning.
3 AM we pull out of my drive heading to a Lake I love to hunt. Normally I have the boy and the mud boat but like I stated before he is helping in Florida.
That means No boat, I have yet to master it.
That makes it a Pack in hunt.
The lake this time of year splits in to two ponds and a land bridge develops that is just a mud flat, all barren and gooey. Prefect, the ducks and geese feel safe flying low and slow.
I have a big pelican sled I planed to slide the two miles to the mud flats and cover it with a mud gray tarp.
With the rain our Mumbo gumbo was slick and stuck to the sled like glue. All our crap, guns, shells, food, tarps, ext.
About one mile in we ditched the sled.
We got out in time to lay a tarp each on the ground and wrap up to hide, in the steady drizzle and wait for shooting time. Opining day You want that to be right. It began dang ducks, geese, snipe, crane, all in the air flying over our hides.
Fund morning, lots of shooting, kind of embarrassing shooting but fun. By 11 am it stops till late afternoon.
11 asst ducks and 3 honkers and a 2 mile walk out took 2 hours of dragging tugging sliding and carrying to the truck.
Great day to be out goosing...
Clap

I see you have added the poly runners on your sled.

I added them to my Jet sled last spring, look good and should avoid too much wear.  Wish I'd have beveled them at a 45o angle for the front edge.
