I read on another site Zeiss is going to offer this model in  lower powered (hopefully smaller bodied) models. Appearently one in 2.5-8x36. I might be able to over look the plastic turret caps if they do. Leupold is starting to leave me cold with their prices and I really liked the Conquest that I had, except the size and caps, I traded it for a Leupold.
last in line for the nobel peace prize. first in line for pie

i'm starting to think the pricing of 'my usual products' is starting to get a little out of whack. most of the gun industry is raising/has raised their prices 5% or more for this year - when inflation isn't even 5%. all of a sudden, a cooper is now a viable alternative to remington, and zeiss or bushnell is looking like a viable alternative to leupold...

i like the conquest series - not as much as the vx-3 line, but there's nothing wrong w/ the conquests. haven't heard of a 2.5-8 by zeiss, but i think their 3-9 conquest surprised them w/ its success - so it shouldn't be a surprise they want to expand the line a little.

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

Ya all know I love Leupolds , but I saw one of those Ziess qonqest,s too and its very nice indeed. I I like the sound of a 2.5X8, I have 2 Leupolds in that mag range, but I would also like Ziess 1.5X5 or so cause I like 45/70s 35 Whelens and mabye a .375 HnH one day.

In the higher power stuff I kind of like the burris  signiture select while not cheap its american and less than a VX3.

The monarch nikkons 32 & 4200 bushnells and grand slam weavers are great low priced scopes...tj3006
