those funny PMC rounds that fire the cylinder like 'cookie cutter' projectile. It had a base on it and after firing it fell off down range a bit. I think the cookie cutter cylinder projectile only weighed about 66 grains or similar and had a very high velocity and when it hit you it 'cut' a wound channel that was meant to be pretty impressive.

Did they work like they were meant to? Have any of you guys used them? They sound like a good idea but I have never seen them in the shops or known anyone who has used them.

Cheers,

Russ.

NOFX;

Like you, I remember seeing them in mags or whatever, but don't have any personal experience with them & don't know anybody who did.

But, it's an interesting question, well worth trying to get an answer to.  I think I'll go over to one of the far larger "Tacti-cool" boards I frequent & see if we can learn something.

NOFX,  that stuff is called "Ultramag".   Sometime back in the '80's I bought a couple boxes of 38 Spcl and 44 Spcl that were being sold at a real low price.  (Probably 'cause nobody wanted them)   I still have a box of the 44 as shown below.  This one uses a 110gr bullet.

Never tried them on anything except paper and some pieces of wood.

Somebody better call the Secret Service. Let 'em know there's an illegal alien in the White House...and it ain't the cook!!

Gunrunner, thanks mate I remember that were called 'ULTRAMAG' now. So PMC don't make it anymore? If they don't it obviously didn't work as it was claimed.

NOFX;

Go to the thread in rifles entitled "What Would You Do?".  The answer I wanted to post here wound up over there.  Why?  I don't know, it just did.

NOFX, I can't remember where I saw it but somebody is making a Muzzle loader bullet like this for loading in a plastic sabot. RD
