Hey guys, what is your favorite fun gun? This would be a gun where you just go out and expend ammunition for no real purpose other than target practice. This would be centerfire, not rimfire, because .22's are just fun. I have my dad pretty much good to go with a Wasr-10 from www.aimsurplus.com, $329 and comes with 2 30 rounders, a mag pouch, sling, bayonet and some other accessories. Ammo is of course, dirt cheap. I am going to use this gun mainly for fun practice, some varying range targets, snapshooting practice, etc.

My main fun gun is a Yugoslavian made AK-47.  Fill up the 75 round drum and start popping off rounds.  It lasts a while.  When that mag is empty start puting in the 30 rounders and let em fly.  I had a case of old E-German training ammo that was pretty accurate out to 100 yards and had the kick of a 22, so there was no muzzle rise while pulling the trigger as fast as I could.  I've got about 40 rounds of that stuff left, waiting to be shot.  Mostly I've used Norinco or Wolf ammo in it.  I don't take the AK out that much these days but when I do it always leaves me smiling.      That's the one rifle I have that I don't care how hot the barrel gets.  It's too much fun.  And yes, I've burned my fingers on it.

lately its been the ar-15, but my standard fun-gun, and the one i'll return to as soon as the ar-15 kick fades, is my 7 rem mag.

for the sake of just seeing how much abuse i can heap on a gun, i sure do like going thru 8x57 mauser ammo as fast as i possibly can in the turk mauser (now that the czech has been retired). i always find it humorous to load the mag and put 5 (at a minimum, more if i can)more stripper clips thru the gun as fast as i can pull the trigger - especially recently when in direct sunlight (and i leave the ammo in the sun, too)... we've been hovering around 93-95 degrees w/o a cloud in the sky. so far, nothing has broken, though the barrel certainly gets hot enough to melt plastic - and i can feel the heat thru the handguards.

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

Remington Model 7 in .223 rebarreled with a 24" takeoff barrel off a Model 700. Topped with Tasco Varmint 2.5-10x42mm AO mil-dot. Shoot it with cheap Wal-Mart Winchester whitebox 45 gr HP ammo. Fun, accurate & inexpensive to shoot.

Regards, Marcus.

Either my Smith 686 in .357, or Colt 1911, 45 ACP. I burn up 300-400 rounds every time I go to the range

Mostly a Marlin in 30/30.  Once I get through the summer rush at work I will have time to work up some loads for another Marlin I recently bought in .35 Rem.  Factory .35 ammo is too spendy here for just blasting at 16.00 a box.  At least I now have a couple of hundred empty cases for it to work with.

I've got several, but these 2 are "total fun"! To be honest they are my wifes. She likes the military stuff, mainly for blasting out in the desert. These 2 are Bushmasters, and both of them run great.  billt

My Ruger No. 1B in .22 Hornet.  Non-existent recoil, excellent accuracy and cheap to reload.  Lawdog

M1 Carbine w/plastic stock and a red dot (5 moa). At 100 yards, just for kicks & giggles, I shot it rapid fire at a 8 inch Shoot & See. I was able to put the dot inside the Shoot & See. I hit all 30 rounds in about a 5 inch group. Not bad for a quick shooting "fun gun".

An AK or a SKS with Wolf ammo is a close second.

My total FUN GUN, is The Triple Deuce! .....A .222 caliber model 722 Remington and it is extremely accurate (.382 @ 100yds) when using those Sierra  bullets. It is a great little knock around gun for taking to the creek or shooting from the bench. You can run 600 rounds through it on a Pdog hunt and never be tender in the shoulder, not one iota the next day. Now what's more it is cheap on the bank account for shooting as a pound of powder goes a long way folks. My favorite load is BL-C(2) 24gr. @ 3100fps.

My favorite rifle for the past three weeks has been my AR-15. I even gave it a break to shoot my .308 Silhouette rifle about 300 rounds, but the AR was the most fun. We shot movers, plates, and an event called the "punisher," comprising of a minimum of 87 shots, shot for time. A real gun breaker  for guns with weak parts, but an accomplishment when you finish. I suppose that by and large, my favorite centerfire is the one I am holding at any given moment. At least that's the way I treat them all at the time....................Kingpin

My favorite fun gun is my Tikka 22-250 when I want to do serious target shooting, when it's just play time and I'm OK with ringing the bell once in a while the Mini-30,cheap fun and it never jams.
