New member here- thought I'd start out with a fishing report

Had a few lakes open up last monday with the warmer(60) temps so a buddy and I hit an old strip pit. On my 4th or 5th cast I caught a real good one, 5.5-6lbs. We fished for about an hour after that and caught 6 more small bass in the 12-13in range. All fish we're caught on 1/4oz Bitsy Flip Jigs with Yum trailers, both in camo color. Not a bad start to the year considering the lake was still half frozen.

Anyone else been out yet this year?

i live in Southern Indiana. the lakes usually dont thaw out till mid to late february. we've had some funny weather though lately, had over 20" of snow 2 weeks ago then less than a week later it was reaching the low 60s.

Hey tas, that is why man invented augers, short fish poles, ice shanties, and beer

Went ice fishing today but didnt catch a thing. We are trying out a new lake, but the other person has gone a few other times to the lake and has caught nothing, so we are going back to the one we fished last year. Maybe not huge fish, but at least we got some hits.

Nah, i believe that is where the beer and food is suppose to enter, not the fish.
