i am not a big fan of tim mcgraw, but boy, o boy, since last week this song has hit me pretty hard:

------------------------------------------------------------ ------
He said, "I was in my early forties, with a lot of life before me,
Then a moment came that stopped me on a dime
I spent most of the next days looking at the x-rays,
Talking about the options and talking about sweet time."

I asked him when it sank in, that this might really be the end,
"How does it hit you when you get that kind of news?

What did you do?"

He said, "I went skydiving,
I went Rocky Mountain climbing,
I went two-point-seven seconds on a bull named Fu-manchu.
And I loved deeper,
And I spoke sweeter,
And I gave forgiveness I’d been denying."
And he said, "Someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dying."

He said, "I was finally the husband, that most the time I wasn’t,
I became a friend that a friend would like to have.
And suddenly going fishing wasn't such an imposition,
And I went three times that year I lost my dad.
Well I finally read the Good Book, and I took a good, long hard look
At what I'd do if I could do it all again....
And then,

I went skydiving,
I went Rocky Mountain climbing,
I went two-point-seven seconds on a bull named Fu-manchu.
And I loved deeper,
And I spoke sweeter,
And I gave forgiveness I’d been denying."
And he said, "Someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dying."

"Like tomorrow was a gift,
And you've got eternity to think about what you'd do with it
What would you do with it?
What did I do with it?"

"I went skydiving,
I went Rocky Mountain climbing,
I went two-point-seven seconds on a bull named Fu-manchu.
And I loved deeper,
And I spoke sweeter,g
And I watched an eagle as it was flyin'

And he said, "Some day I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dying."

Tash, I adopted this philosophy when I was 18. It near about killed me a few times, but I never changed it. I like to live every day like it was my last. Sure, it cost me a few bruises once in a while, and some broken bones a few times, but, I wouldn't change them for the world. I do the same thing on a daily basis, like it's the first time, or it's going to be the last time. "FULL TILT !" is what I live by. Nothing is too tall, too strong, or too tuff. If you like some pain, I strongly advocate this life style......................Kingpin

I've done the sky diving, mountain climbing, and a lot more.....thankful I did get lots of those things done.

But For the last 20 years I've been living like tomorrow I wouldn't wake up.  Figuring that I think I'm ready to see my makers face in the morning makes me sleep pretty good.  Sure I could have done better, but I'm trying one day at a time.

Funny how many 'nervous' people you meet in the hospital laying in a line to get serious surgery.  Tomorrow could be the start of eternity for each of us.

Getting too serious.  But in addition to sky diving  I think Tim McGraw needs to add: flying planes under bridges, scuba diving with sharks, night hunting leopards over bait, and stalking buffaloes in high grass.  And then there was this cute brunette in Buffalo..........................

Hitting the ground is good......you just don't want to hit it tooooo fast.  Hitting the water is not always good.

I find flairing the chute about 12 foot of the ground makes the knees and nose happy campers.Wink

I think J. Denver was flying illegally in more ways then one!

I lived hard and wild for many years but now with kids of my own I live alot more conservativly. I've skyidved, raced stock cars, done and taught aerobatics, flown under bridges and power lines, crashed trying to land on a gravel road and have flown the same type of plane John Denver piled up- just not drunk. I am a certified adreneline junkie but I'm like a AA member. "It's been 679 days since my last snap roll". "HI Deaddog" One day at a time I guess...

Endeavor to persevere.
