I am positive we have some people lerking around the sage brush and bunk houses, that remember the Cowboys of yester year on the movie screens and TV picture tubes as well. Now how many can you remember dating back to the earliest?

I love "The Big Valley".  That was a great T.V. show.  Still one of my all time favorites.  Nick was always beating somebody up.  It had the $6 million man too.  I also like "The Wild Wild West".  The first western that I can remember seeing was "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", another Clint Eastwood movie.  It's one of my favorites.

What about Tex Ritter. Anyone who could clear a bar room without losing his white hat had to be tough. Years back i went to a side show at our exhibition, like your State Fairs, and saw Lash Larue do his thing with a bullwhip, cigarettes out of his assistants mouth, cards cut in half using a mirror etc. Where did Hop-a-long go or Gene Autry. What about Jack Palance as the evil dude in "Shane".

Don't forget the Cisco Kid and Pancho. And Paladin? My cousin's quote: "I hate the damned show. Every week he shoots somebody and then recites a poem..."

Same as mr mom's list, plus Sky King, The Rifleman, Have Gun Will Travel, Branded.

I can't remember Hoss's real name on the show , but he sure was great.  "Hey Little Joe, let's go see what Hop Sing's cookin' for lunch"  "Mista Hoss, you get outta my kichen!!!"

Somebody better call the Secret Service. Let 'em know there's an illegal alien in the White House...and it ain't the cook!!

I watch the Western channel almost every nite. I try not to miss any of Lee Van Cleaf - whether the good or bad dude. I saw recently that he was an accountant and clients suggested he get into movies - a good move.

mr mom, I don't recall those, but maybe I saw them.  The name Whirlybirds does sound sort of familiar.

How about Combat, McHale's Navy, Rat Patrol.

Back to the westerns, F-Troop was funny.  And I might have got the Death Valley Days mixed up with Wagon Train, being sponsored by Borax.  Can't remember.  There were so many good shows back then.

A toy Thompson.  Boy does that bring back memories.  Yeah I had one.  I remember riding my bike 4 miles to the store to buy it and peddaling home fast so I could play with it.  Had a revolutionary war type musket with ramrod that shot hard plastic balls.  And of course lots of cowboy cap guns.

Anybody remember Kit Carson?

Edt:

After thinking back, I remember the rev war musket shot wooden balls. Can't remember how they were fired though.

And TG, your 50 years is already showing. The Rifleman was mentioned above.

I remember Whirlybirds, I just checked, and it ran from 1957 to 1959. Didn't see anyone mention Chuck Connors as "The Rifleman".
