here's an old picture of a town somewhere. can anyone identify it?

i WILL tell you that it is somewhere west of the mississippi, and that it was taken in 1902.

That's easy, it's Death Valley, California before they used up all the water.

I've been going over these photos with a magnifying glass, and I don't have a clue.   All 3 show types of terrain I've seen here in CA.  Nice pictures to look at though.   I'll have to wait till you tell us.
Somebody better call the Secret Service. Let 'em know there's an illegal alien in the White House...and it ain't the cook!!

I think the town is in Utah!

Yup, I do believe it is so........However it could also be in Colorado too.

or it could be in south dakota, a couple of miles from the wyoming border to the west, black hills to the south, and open prairie to the north and to the east...

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

dakota is right! you are seeing a view of spearfish, south dakota, taken from the east (or slightly north-east) in 1902. beautiful, ain't it?

it still is a fairly pretty town, but most of the beauty in the photos has been lost to developers. really is too bad... could've been one of the premier hunting/hiking/camping/fishing destinations in the u.s.... now, it is just an overdeveloped town. everybody couldn't wait to move there for the beauty - so they did, and now the beauty is lost.  and now a lot of those same folks have taken to other areas of the black hills for its beauty, and guess what? that beauty is being eroded... oh well. i'll hunt there while i can. won't be able to much longer.
