I keep hearing everyone speak of all the feeding problems the WSM's are having. It actually made me a little weary on getting one, but I did anyway. I have had ZERO feeding problems. In fact, the case is so large that once is comes out of the mag it is pretty much pefectly lined up with the bore and just slides right in. Even single feeding is a breeze, you can drop one on top of the mag and it slides in like silk. Has anybody actually had any problems or is this just all hoopla from people that like traditional stuff and need to make up a reason to hate the WSM's?
Stupid people are like a slinky, they don't serve much purpose in the world but they sure are fun to watch tumble down the stairs!

If you want to test feeding, fill the magazine full and quickly cycle them all out. It's how the feed rails work or don't work that is the issue. Feeding one at a time doesn't test how it comes out of the magazine. It's really not a huge issue for my type of hunting. I will say most people who say their rifle feeds well hasn't cycled one that has been worked over by a competent person to really feed well. It's a real eye opener, but not a expense I need for most of my stuff.

i've yet to have a feed problem w/ mine. i've also tested as per rob's suggestion. feeds 'em just fine. no, not as slick as a custom job, but i have yet to have any problem getting 'em in or out of the gun, as fast or slow as i want.
i don't doubt they may have had problems initially, but by the time they got to mine, they had 'em all sorted out.

Rob, I did say they fed fine from the mag and singly, just to be clear. I will admit to one instance when they would not feed, but it was when it first made it home and I tried to load just the brass from the mag, the case mouth caught on the ramp lip.

I did have a problem with my Savage .300wsm when I frist got it,but it was one of the frist ones Savage had put out. A few swipes with the honeing stone and that was that not one more problem.

if you listen to some of the experts on a couple of the boards, the feeding problems are pandemic. i remember reading in a magazine that the .243 (or was it .223) wsm had bad feeding problems, and i think that maybe some people read that to mean that ANY wsm has them. personally, i would think that if the problem were as wide-spread as is perceived, then the rifles wouldn't get out the factory door.
