I've got three days in early fall to fish the southern Bidhorn mountains. I'll be tent camping and would like to find a fishing spot close to a rustic camp site.

seems there are a lot of good remote streams, but they are usually mile or so back a trail. Legs will not let me do that.

will be fly fishing for trout.

Any and all thoughts appreciated.

I would suggest clear creek. Highway 16 pretty much follows it from Buffalo up to Tie Hack lake. The Moser Gulch area is a good place to fish Clear creek and it's only a few miles west of Buffalo. A lot of people fly fish at Tie Hack. There are several places that you can turn off of highway 16 to access the creek.

Another good place would be Crazy Woman creek. You can drive down Crazy Woman canyon starting about 25 miles up from Buffalo on highway 16.

I'll ask a few buddies that fly fish in the Big Horns and add to this post.
