I got my hands on some Sierra Gamekings 160 gr for REAL cheap. and another 100 7mm Mauser once fired brass at again Real cheap price. We already fireformed 250 for the GD's Ruger Am, but what the heck why not another 100... She is shooting SSTs 140s and TTSX 140s both shoot under an inch and the TTSX shoot under a .5 most the time. Long story short when we where fire forming the first bunch we where using the sst, and ttsx both shot as good as they do after fireforming.
I'm hoping after fireforming the 160s shoot better.
We got the barrel in 1x8 twist to shoot longer bullets. So far it's not looking good, maybe Hammers will do better.
Here is a 4 shot group I just shot with the SST's .
Here is the work up 5 different powder chargers.
Ouch

I use more Sierra bullets than any other. I bet you will be able to find a load that will work. Maybe a different powder?

I'm not sure on the Sierra, fairly slow I would bet.
The 140s are going around 2800 fps.Smile

2800 is pretty fast.  I get that with P+ loads in my ruger #1, and that is book max load.

Most 7x57 published loads are 45,000 or less on pressure due to old mausers.

Seems to be no reason not to go higher in a strong action, that is why Hodgdon publishes higher load for Ruger #1 actions.

Mine has plenty of power for even the biggest whitetail

Does anyone publish loads for 7X57 in modern actions?

I load a lot of 6.5X55 and they have different load data for what they call 6.5X55 SE. I don't know what SE stands for but the loads are for modern actions.

I have not seen any said to be for Modern guns.
We used 7mm 08 info and just run till we saw slight presser sign, and backed off a titch.
