Gentlemen:

     Living in the city I have a membership to one of the local shooting ranges and I do pick up brass for reloading.
     Here's the point; I was reloading 45's yesterday and I have some Blazer brass, yes brass, not the aluminum junk, and I couldn't get any primers to fit! After looking at them I think they are using small pistol primers.
     Anybody have any information on the blazer brass?

A lot of the 45acp brass uses small pistol primers, most of the non-toxic rounds, for indoor ranges, use them.   I just sort them out and when I get enough, I load them seperately.  You shouldn't have to change your load, I use 5gr Bullseye in both.  Large primer doesn't seat in small hole though, it kind of gums up the works.

City kids, sheesh.

.45 acp Speer, CCI, Blazer, and some Rem are Small pistol.

7.62x39 Rem use small rifle the rest large.

Some Rem-umc .357 mag take large most are small.

.454 Uses small rifle mag but some of the early brass was large pistol.

.500 S&W also started out with large pistol and changed to Large rifle.

And I'm sure you know the .40 uses small and the 10mm large?

Endeavor to persevere.

Fella's;

Just remember, they had to wait until Jeff Cooper shuffled off this mortal coil before de-standardizing the .45ACP primers.  He woulda roasted the entire batch of dumb brassards in print.  And then might have invited 'em all to the range & you would not believe all the accidents!  Of course his defense would have been that they were obviously major mental defectives & the accidents were inevitable.
