Here's one for the books. Last Sunday I went to the range for the sole purpose of shooting the "new" SAA .44 Spl. I got set up to shoot, with all the parafanalia, got a bench and all. I picked up the .44 and it was THEN, that I realized that I did NOT buy any ammo for it. WTF????? Thankfully, my grandson from Arkansas was with us and I brought out a few of my .22 rifles. It turned into a pleasurable day, showing him which end of the bullet goes in first. Probably spent 5 hours there while he burned up .22 ammo. I also got a good sight in with the 10-22 with the Bosco scope. Well, some kind of cheap  ruskie scope. Anyway, It shoots!!!! I'll save the .44 when I can be alone and grow an affection for it. Anyway I am sure it will be fine.................................Kingpin

A day at the range with your grandson is a good day no matter how you slice it.

The 44 will be there next time.

You could have stuck 4 .22's in each hole of the cylinder. The firing pin
would catch the edge of all four at the same time and the bullets all
get forced together into one lump of lead in the cone.

Well the name of the thread...

Kingpin;

There's this, this, - - - aroma - - - surrounding this thread.

And yes, 10/22's can shoot purty-good, if you do the ammo testing.  There really isn't the need to dump $500.00 into one before ya takes it out for the first date, as so many seem to think.

First few times you may have to tap them in with a ball peen hammer.
Just til it gets "broke in".

That sound about as bad as what I did a few months ago.
Went to the range with my PPK and the first 380 loads to
test. I also took my vintage Charter AR-7 to shoot for
the first time in about 15 years.
Well I get there and low and behold I find a fellow range
member with a new Henry Arms AR-7 and we talk about them.
I go to the car to get my AR-7 and realize it is still
sitting in my chair by the front door.

Well all was not a loss. I found my 380 loads worked well
in the PPK!

I usually go to the range 2-3 times a week.  Amazing how many times a guy shows up without his gun or ammo, or clip.

Lately, they seem to come without targets!!!!!  they ask and I always give them a few.  Starting to wonder, one guy looked familiar, maybe this is a new way to save on buying targets????
