After having my scope, base and rings sit at the local post office over this LOooooooooONG weekend, I was finally able to get everything picked up and got the .375 Super Magnum put together.  I like the way it looks :

It does have a much different feel than I'm used to with my Super RedHawk.  Has a lot to do with the weight placement.  Having the Dan Wesson system attach to the barrel shroud like it does, it feels quite front heavy.  I knew it would, but that's something I'll have to adjust to.  With the Ruger mounting system on the frame of the gun, the weight is much better centered in the hand :

This is what I'm used to shooting so for now, it seems to be much more controllable.  I'm sure once I get the DW out, things will fall into place fine.  Hope so.  The mounting system for my Taurus is gonna be the same so I'd better learn to control it.  Anyway, looking forward to testing the rig out asap.  Later.  >>  klallen

I nominate KL to do the scope durability test.

As you can see he is already well equipped to beat the living ba-jesus out of scopes!

I too like the way that Super Redhawks balance. I find it perfect. Now all i have to do is shoot one. .480 Ruger OUCH!!!! Not as bad as a .454 would be though.

Hey NH  >>  I've noticed quite a difference in the .454 Casull's recoil since I switched from the 300 gr. XTP MAG's @ 1600+ fps to the 395 gr. LBT solids @ 1400+ fps.  Not as much snap to the wrist with the heavy-weights while still offering all the energy the cartridge can muster with better penetration.  Brother's got the 425 gr. LBT going in his Super RedHawk .480 Ruger.  That's a fun one, too.  I want the Taurus Raging Bull in that cartridge.  I'd love to find my way into a .500 S&W Magnum so I could try out CP's 440 gr. LBT but no way in hell I'm paying $900 for that revolver.  Hoping someone else picks the cartridge up and works it into something more affordable.  We'll wait and see.  By the way Ron, the .375 SM is a big, heavy revolver.  It's got plenty of power ta-boot, but it's really a pussy-cat to shoot.  Seems to be on par with near-MAX loads in my .44 RemMag.  Real comfortable.  Later guys.  >>  korey
