Did a thread on the rifle board along the same topic thought I might as well do one here, too. Just for fun. I'll start....

Colt Commercial Government 1911 .45ACP..... early mfg, C 12,XXX serial number. Someone did a long ago "custom" on it by turning it into a 'long slide' with a 6" barrel and adding an adjustable rear site. Stippling on the front strap of the frame and original flat mainspring housing. Ground the hammer flat on the sides. Very nice trigger job, though...

Too bad to ruin such a fine old piece on the one hand but then again that was done usually without much thought or regret "back in the day" as surplus 1911's were seemingly plentiful and easily attainable. It would almost be sacrilege today to do the same thing. Anyway, pics to follow at some point....

Here's the pic....

Better pics:

Fella's;

Last handgun I bought was a Beretta NEOS .22 rimfire.  It's reasonably left-friendly and unreasonably easy to clean.  It has got to be the easiest gun I've ever seen to take down & clean.  Kudo's to whomever designed this one!

A friend of mine has one with something around 8000 rounds through it to this point.  His problems have been minor & related to much shooting & minimal maintenance.  Once he learned to clean crap out of the firing pin chamber & lube that only just a little, he's been runnin' good.  Mine, for some reason I haven't gotten around to dealing with yet, does not like to pick up the last round out of the magazine.  But that ain't a-gonna last by Neddie Dingo!

Speaking of magazines, extras are available through CDNN for $10.00 each.  And they're actual Beretta mags too!  When's the last time you heard of that kinda price on a factory mag, let alone a Beretta mag!!??  Heads will roll in Italy over that one, but I've already got mine.  Snrk!

A VERY used,  S&W  Mod  65-2.
It's an older one, with the pinned barrel and recessed chambers.
Shoots real well, but looks like crap.

Picked-up a early 2nd generation 3rd Model Colt Dragoon.  I paid half of what they are selling for. It is unfired in the box mfg. in 1974. Not sure how long I'll keep it. I have a hard time with guns I can't fire...

Tikka;

What caliber?  We never see them around here, more's the pity.  All we ever see is Gack, or Gork, or whatever they are.  Although the new FN pistol has been seen in cases.  Anybody got any experience with one of those?

last handgun i got was a ruger blackhawk in 41 mag and 7.5" barrel.

i have not yet started any sort of load development for it, but will try to sometime this summer. i have dies, and a couple of appropriate powders, but no brass or bullets yet.

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

 I had to special order this one,it's a 9mm. Folks at the range ask me why I didn't just go for a Glock,then I let them shoot it. No more questions. I detest Glocks,one thing about them you love them or hate them theres no in between.

 I have really been looking close at an FN,they are really well balenced and they have a really good price on them. I'm seriously thinking about trading my Dan Wesson .44 in on one.

Bersa 380 Semi-Auto was the last one I bought.  Works great, good value for a CCW.

I bought one of those, buckmarks, last year.  Great little pistol, if you find it stovepipes with the cheap stuff, try rem green label or cci mini-mags.  They seem to like a little hotter load than the cheapest bricks.  My in law (son-in laws dad) liked mine so much he bought one too.  He bought an aftermarket interchangeable fiber optic front sight for his, pretty slick.  We went out last week and were shooting bowling pins with them, at 25 yds you have to hit them in head to knock em over, loads of fun.  You can burn up a brick in no time though.  I wish mags were a little cheaper for them though.

My latest is a Taurus 24/7 45 with a streamlight TL1 on light rail.  Shoots pretty good for price.  Light is nice and bright, blinding if your on wrong side of it.  Should work pretty good as house/ truck gun.  It's a 12+1 45 acp, with +P HP should end debates fairly soundly.  I have holster for carry with light attached on the way, little hard to find.  I have a couple of other for it also, a little big for CCW.  Only 17oz but with double stack mag a little thick.  I would say it's about same size as S&W MP.  Only $325 out the door with two mags, case, cheap holster(uncle Mikes), couple boxes of shells and one year NRA membership included.

Bought this "WB" inspected 1942 mfg Colt 1911A1 frame and misc small parts in the early 90's. It was reparked and served as a platform for a Colt .22 Conversion Unit for many years. Recently got around to restoring it back into a somewhat authentic WWII Colt 1911A1 USGI with the acquisition of some needed completion parts:

Before:

After:

Course, it can still act as the platform for the .22 Unit. I just think it looks better this way.....

Regards, Marcus.

New Norinco Model 1911A1 "Target" in .45ACP. My additions are the double diamond hardwood stocks and standard slide stop [comes with black checkered rubber grip panels and an 'extended' slide stop]:

Compared with the latest model Norinco 1911A1 'compact' [commander]:
