I'm dropping by to say Hello!

For those who don't know me from the 24hour board, I'm from Colorado and am a die hard mule deer guy.  Bear and elk are often on the menu too!

The place here looks great and there are a few familiar names.  I'm hoping to find the time to check things out around here from time to time and make a few new friends.

Cheers!

Muley Stalker

Hey Muley. That name could be taken in another way but welcome to BSB, the biggest little board around!

Stupid people are like a slinky, they don't serve much purpose in the world but they sure are fun to watch tumble down the stairs!

Muley;

Welcome to the board.  As a Wyomingite & now Montanan, I will pull out the needle & have at that mountinous refuge of ex-patriot Kalifornians.  Just as long as it's recognized that the wind blows in Laramie 'cause CSU sucks, there's nothing really, ya now - wrong - with being a Coloradan.

Hi MULEY STALKER  >>  Welcome aboard!!!   BSB's has a nice group of folks that tend towards hunting deer of the "big eared" persuasion, too.  You'll run into them in time.  Anyway, should be aweful easy to make friends here.  Later.  >>  klallen

Thanks for the welcome!

I'll try my hand at posting a picture here of my 2003 buck.  Despite it not being a great season, it worked out nicely...

I also managed a small 5x5 bull, a cow elk, a 400 pound black bear in Alaska and helped take a book mountain lion not far from my house.

Big Sky hunted with me as well this fall and he took a DANDY buck on my place as did my soon-to-be ex-wife, who only had a day to hunt yet managed a good 4x4.

Muley;

Do I see evidence that the bolt of your rifle extends from the proper ( rather than the right ) side of the action?

If that's the case, welcome to the small, but growing,  coterie of us portsider's on the board.

[Grin] Nope, a strategically placed piece of sage is covering the bolt handle, which is on the right side of the rifle.

Welcome Muley Stalker,

You will learn to ignore some of the posters here they focus on the wrong side of the action looking for protruding bolts.......some even shoot 264 win Mags and other obsolete cartridges Wink.

Nice muley.

NH;

You've obviously never heard the admonition about not commenting & proving it.

I happen to have a Remington 788 LHB, with the ejection port on the right side.  Remington made 'em that way.  I'm not about to think that maybe somebody else didn't/doesn't do it that way too.  I'm not real familiar with Weatherby's, which is what that gun appears to be to me, & didn't think to check with Pocketrowboat to find out fer sure.

Welcome Muley Stalker......This is a friendly and informative site...I might suggest that you start off on the right foot and initiate a discussion on the merits of the latest inline developments and balckpowder alternatives. After all...it is the twister season in the mid west, isn't it?  Too early for hornets to be building nests in my corner yet.

CB900F, you have me wondering about you (grin) -- are you familiar with the term "SUCKS?"  It's a SUCKs (Remington M700) SS in .338 Ultra Mag with a McMillan Lazzeroni Sporter patterned stock.  The only other mod's are a Gre-tan firing pin assembly and trigger job.  Oh, and before anyone ribs me for shooting something so ridiculous (you know, compensating, etc.), the (one and only)shot on this buck was 410 yards as he was trotting, quartering away -- dead buck.

Now Samchap, while I can't comment on the latest inline developments, I can tell you that fff 777 and maxi-balls out of a T/C encore 209x50 is a hell of a load and resulted in a nice little 6x6 bull the season before last !

I was up there less than 2 weeks ago for a job interview.  Beautiful spot!
