Gentelmen: I read everyones notes on the 10mm and found some enlightenment from your postings. I own 4 handguns in this caliber and enjoy shooting them. I have killed deer with it and I like it for back up when I hunt the four legged critters. I use the hornady 200 gr bullets behind 8.8 gr. of blue dot. I consider this caliber for hunting and prefer the 40 S&W for self-defence. How do you fellas feel on hunting with this caliber? Edited by thedad |

Still like the 10mm myself, too. I still have my stainless Delta Gold Cup and blued Delta Elite. Although, I did get a 'smith to fit a .40 S&W chambered barrel to the blued Delta as a "drop-in". I find the 10mm brass is quite expensive and relatively hard to find up here in the North. The .40 S&W, on the other hand, is plentiful. Our local ranges are littered with fresh factory once fired brass after the local municipal & city cops do their qualifying twice per year.

North Logan: Have you entertained the idea of buying brass directly from Starline. They are asking $85.50 for 500 or $147.00 for 1000 and the shipping is free |

Actually, yes. A local shop recently opened that's only about 10 mins from home. He supplies cast bullets, Dillion reloading gear and also brings in bulk loads of Starline brass. I do have a good supply of 10mm brass already but I find I seem shoot .40 S&W more.

Understandable .....lighter bullet, less powder, way less kick-back/recoil to shooter....good choice! |
