Well, I finally made a winning bid on e-bay and got this Wing Falcon recurve. 62", 28#. No I will not be using this for deer or other large game. I wanted to start learning first hand and figured this bow will be a good beginner. I only have 2 arrows as yet, Kmart carbons with 125gr field points. I'll get more soon. I've been shooting it a lot the last 2 days in my backyard. First at some large cardboard, and then at an old phonebook placed in a small cardboard box. I have to keep the targets low and close. If I miss, which is a lot, the arrow will pass through the chain link fence into a pasture behind our house. (Yea, I've climbed the fence once so far) Keeping the target low lets the misses go into the soft grass. I can already see I'll probably be messing up a lot of arrows as I learn. The bow is marked 62", but I measure it at 59", whether strung or not. The string itself measures 57" from end to end of loops. Does that sound right? My fingertips were getting sore so at times I'd wear a leather work glove. There's no sight on this, and I don't really want one. The string has a knock point, and I found hitting the target came when I set the arrow below the point rather than on top of it. Is that the correct way? Below the point. When set on top, the arrows POI was way low. This bow and arrow stuff is a lot of fun!! With this light pull I'll be able to practice a lot without getting to beat up. And I'll be keeping my eye on e-bay for another recurve down the road. Maybe a 52" with 45# pull for hunting. Now one real pressing question. How do ya make one of those flaming arrows?

Hey
Wing makes a very good recurve. Make shure your arrows are the right spine for a 28 lb bow. You should purchase a shooting glove it will save your fingers your risking some nerve damage when you get a higher pound bow. =>>>>>-----RedW oolArcher----->->> |

My guess is that you are missing your bottom nock. Easy enough to crimp another one on their. As for the other part, a strip of t-shirt dipped in rubbing alcohol will work but watch your face and hair so you don't get singed. You guys have enough wild fires out there already don't you? DD |
