Over several decades now, much has been made about the disparity of rights and opportunities between the sexes in America.  Studies have been produced that purport to show that women have been categorically denied equal pay for equal jobs, the right to equitably compete for an open position, or to have the position at all.  There is no doubt that many of these allegations are true on the face of it.  However, it is also true that the studies tend to be skewed by the positions and passions of the people paying for them.

Therefore, let us examine a very simple black-and-white, domestic, example of common sexual discrimination.  Realizing that this microcosm allows us to extrapolate valid reasons why sexual discrimination exists in the larger society of America today.  What we have is an extremely well known condition that exists in most households in America, if not all the first and second tier nations throughout the world, of female discrimination against the male.  The thought that this domestic abuse does not directly influence workplace attitude is frankly, ludicrous. 

However, rarely, if ever, has this pervasive base line cause ever been examined in open forum to honestly determine the extent, viability, and magnitude of its effects.  Therefore, now let this be stated.

Dammit!  50% of us want the toilet seat UP!!

At cocktail parties when this discussions come up, I like to first ask the women in the room, "How many of you have on occasion sat down in the water and cursed your husbands for leaving the seat up?"    Most raise their hands gleefully.

Then I ask "How many of you husbands have sat down in the water because you left the seat up"?  Never had a yes.

As I quickly leave the room I grab a drink, and say "I rest my case as to the relative intelligence of the two sexes."

If you do this make sure you have the car keys, not your wife.  Walking home always makes my feet hurt!
