I'd think that perhaps a J-frame S&W in .38 would do. There might have to be some money spent at a good smith's shop to get the trigger pull down to something you can handle and have reliable ignition, but that'd be money well spent.

The only other possibility that I can think of would be one of the tip-up semi's in a mouse caliber. Most assuredly a second rate choice IMHO.

If you remember you were the one that corrupted me. I now carry a J-frame Smith & Wesson. Its a model 60 with a 2 inch barrel. Carrys good, shoots good, I couldn't be happier. I did remove the internal lock and bought the plug to fill the hole.

I think if you carry one for a while, you won't even want to conciel your full sized 1911.

The only thing I see wrong with the new Federal .327 is that it doesn't seem to be very popular. For a collecter, that's good news. For a carry gun, if you practice with it like you should, that's not such good news. Because they'll stop making ammo for it in the not-too-distant future.

The last SW revolver I handled had like a 12 lb. trigger pull. They can be fixed, and that would make it easier for your weak hand to operate. KP could probably do a good job, provided he isn't drinking at the time. I wouldn't let just any smith do it, however. I used to know a guy but I think he's dead. He did a hell of a trigger job on my model 24. All stone work, as I recall.

Springs are not the only thing that need to be fixed. By fixing them, I do not mean cutting coils. The rebound slide spring is the spring that is notoriously the one being cut by a few coils. In ALL S&W revolvers, the rebound slide spring has 17 coils. Do NOT, under any circumstances EVER clip a couple of coils off.. Next thing to do is make sure all the pins in the hammer and trigger are flush with their surfaces. This can be checked by looking at the bearing surfaces in the frame and side plate. Small tell tale semi-circles are a dead give away. Next, there is the rebound slide itself. Stoning the bearing surfaces on this (the bottom and back) will slick the action a lot. Don't over do it, just enough to remove most of the tool marks. Remove too much and the rebound slide is loose in the gun and will cause trouble. Now, back to the rebound slide spring. It is VERY possible to use the existing heavy one if one puts it on a rod a little less than the diameter of the hole through the coils, and reduce the outside diameter on a bench grinder or belt grinder. Not too much, just enough to flatten the outside of the coils. Now, There is a S&W trigger job. Those revolvers are as close to perfect as possible. The only other one that is better is, the Walther revolver. Wait!! Those are made by S&W too. I guess that says it all...............Kingpin

	June they cut my left hand and removed bones there from. Healed nicely, still have some pain, but the hand and the forearm is weak, about 5-7% normal strength. Still rehabing left hand. Tuesday I go for the right hand. Will be 6 months I guess till trama settles down. It is Christmas.....I might need a present for me. Right arm will be in a cast for a month and then the right hand in a "hand cast for 2 months. NOW, What would be a good CCW???? I'm right handed normally so my left is weak and not as coordinated. I will not be able to rack and auto. thoughts? suggestions? If anyone recommends a 1911 45 I'll hunt my arm laughing so hard. Edited by BEAR

	CB two good thoughts. I have an alloy J-frame that I 'loaned' my son. I'll be in Virgina for Christmas, might want to 'borrow' it back. The tip up 25 might work also.

How about one of those "new" 327mag revolvers, you could go with the 32 H&R mag, 32 S&W long, or 32 S&W loads, for now with your sore hand. I looked at the ruger sp101 in 327 a while ago and came close to buying one.

	I got one of these around February at a gunshow for around $380 used. 5-shot 38+P isn't overly hopping in my hand, load recipes and ammo are both easy to come by. Boy does it carry nice too! Slips into any pocket easily even with a soft neoprene holster!

	I replaced the springs in my M36 with Wolf springs and it helped the trigger pull a lot........

	Hand surgery is finished. Will not know for 2 months if it works! Tough to type. Lots of pain. No sleep in last 30 hours. Good news. Picked up a beretta, tip barrel 22lr. Seems to work. On BSB I’M IN READ ONLY MODE.

	The tip-up Beretta is working fine. Fits nicely into the sling, and doesn't require any 'racking' to load. Only a 22LR, but I did kill a 6 point buck with one a few years back, shot placement counts. Stitches are out, hand looks like a real POS, strange colors and lost lots of muscle in my forearm. But not much pain, just major 'discomfort'. Next week I will go to the S&W 442 alloy J-frame, for carry. New smaller cast gives me access to my right trigger finger...thinking of trying to go 'ote hunting with a 22 mag....got to get out and play in the snow.
