Okay let the imagination go.  should be something that was made, no super customs.

Pics would help.

mine would be a Ruger No.1 in 6.5x55 Swed

For me it would be a good quality full stocked bolt action with a high grade walnut stock in 6.5X55 Swede that shoots one hole groups at 200 yards.

Something like this.

I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

Hmm, I have several that fit what I would call "The perfect deer rifle." I'm not sure I could make them better. I have 1 from Hart and another soon to come. Both SA Rem 700s, 22" fluted barrel, MacMillan stocks with Jim Hart's magic worked on the trigger and action, 7mm08 and 308. Another I just got is a Stainless Stalker Browning X-Bolt in 308. It has quickly become a favorite. I am not much for fancy wood and shiny bluing. I would be too afraid of taking it out. I have some that are too nice to hunt with and don't need anymore.

Wing, that pic looks a lot like maybe a double rifle vs bolt action. What is it?

It's just a picture I found on line but I'd want my full stocked bolt gun to have wood like that.

I've got them on a flint, a percussion, 8x57RJS double, and on my DGR 9.3x62.

I know they are ancient technology (from when triggers were 'rough at best'.  BUT, I'm an ancient type guy.

One fellow asked me to remove it from his flintlock.  he kept thinking it might go off by itself (&^^%%%???????????).  simple push one pin out and remove.   dah

Endeavor to persevere.” It's one of my favorite lines from “The Outlaw Josey Wales”.  Dan George (no relative of D4570 nor myself)  player real life indian  Lone Watie, fantasticly.  Lone lived after the fictional time of character Wales though.

Sounds cool Tom.  that 6x45 was also close to the 6mm Thompson Center (maybe the same).  always wanted a Savage 24 with a 20 ga /222rem.  guess I and others waited to long.

Just got home from 3 days at NRA Outdoor Show, saw some nice walnut/blued rifles with carved stocks...even took a ticket on a carved stock Marlin 45-70.  But I never win anything!
