It is 8 oF and light snow.
Behind my house is a small strip of woods, about 4o yards deep then other houses. We have probably the highest concentration of whitetails in US, even with a 4+ month season and unlimited doe licenses. Last spring a big doe gave birth about 20 yards from my window in some 1" saplings, twin girls. Watched them grow up all year. Interesting to me is the number of times the 3 deer return to exactly the same spot. When todays snow started they came back here. As usual the two twins bed in exactly the same spot as where they were born. Laying there now they are slowly being covered with snow, but raise their heads from their double bed and lick on anothers face and heads. All within inches of where they were born. This could be the perfect bedding area? or could be they have birth memories of the spot. Mom is bedded about 20 yards away from her daughters. Great to watch.

Saw a deer yesterday on the way to work, snow was up to it's belly while standing. No need for a bed when you can't fall over, just pull your feet up and put your head down.
