We are starting to hear about a lot of sucessful hunts on this board.  Seems to this Easterner that most of you guys are in Montana/Wy/Co area.

What are you hearing and seeing regarding CWD.  It was a pretty hot topic last season?  Are hunter just ignoring it?

Wisconsin made a HUGE deal out of it last year and it scared a lot of hunters. License sales are up big time from last year, but not quite what they were before, close though. They have found a few cases so far this year, people are much less paranoid about it. So far the only thing they can think of doing is total eradication in the zones around where it was found. They also had a large private donation and are paying $200 to a hunter that gets a deer that tests positive to encourage hunting, and then another $200 to the land owner for allowing hunting, if the hunter is the land owner he will get all $400.

Most of the people around me are not very worried about it. I think the 'strong' will survive and the weak will not. Hopefully it will not spread excessively, but if it is widespread out west it IS only a matter of time until it reaches everywhere.

Stupid people are like a slinky, they don't serve much purpose in the world but they sure are fun to watch tumble down the stairs!
