Cody Firearms Museum

The Cody Firearms Museum houses the most comprehensive assemblage of American firearms in the world. The Winchester Collection, the heart of this museum, was transported from New Haven, Connecticut to Cody in 1976. The Cody Firearms Museum was dedicated in 1991, providing an expansive permanent home for the collection.

Don't expect to see only Winchester-made arms here. There are firearms from virtually every significant manufacturer in the world. Viewing the exhibits, visitors are able to trace the evolution of modern firearms technology from its earliest days through today's outstanding variations.

The Curatorial Staff of the Firearms Museum will gladly reply to your queries for information on firearms and firearms-related items. While the staff strives to respond within a reasonable amount of time, they receive a large number of requests. Please be patient about receiving a response. The curatorial staff cannot resolve gunsmithing or highly technological queries, but they can assist you with general and historical information about firearms.

Firearms collectors can take advantage of the Cody Firearms Museum Records Service to secure information about individual firearms. Factory letters are available to non-CFM members for a fee. However, telephone searches are provided for our Cody Firearms Museum members only. Please contact Waddy Colvert for our rates.

Please note as an accredited museum, we are unable to provide firearms values or appraisals.

The one place I've been in Wyoming. It is more than a worthwhile trip. You won't want to leave.
