At my age (north of 60) all my friends have had cataracts removed and plastic lens put in.

It is a great operation...simple computer controlled, out patient, painless..

But I'v learn  not everyone is easy.   So, I suggest that you get one at a time.  Dr usually schedule you for the second one at 2-3 weeks later.

Get one done, then reschedule the 2nd one for 8-10 weeks later.  You want to make sure you have a full, clear recovery before undertaking a second operation.

A great procedure.  Both of mine are perfect.  But quite a few of my friends have had prolonged vision problems.

just thoughts

 I'm about a month and a half North of 60. So far I don't think I'm having a problem. I'm sure it's coming.

Did you recently have cataract surgery? If so, did it help the vision in your right (aiming) eye?

My right eye has been bad for years, 9 laser 'welds" leaves me with 9 dead spots.

Been 2 years since my cataract surgery; been sucessfull.

Wrote this as I just had to say the same thing too my younger bro'.  He is going in Thursday, and has scheduled 2nd eye for 2 weeks later.

I hope his surgery goes good.

If I remember right you sometimes shoot left handed. Were you able to shoot as good left handed as you do right handed?

The reason I ask is I am right handed but left eye dominant. I have tried to shoot left handed, only a few shots, and it was a big failure. evidently the only thing I can do on my left side is see. If I try to write with my left hand it looks like a drunk 3 year olds writing.

Maybe a little more practice?

It took some practice to shoot left handed.

Actually, the weakest link was my trigger finger.  My left hand just never got as fine a trigger squeeze as my right hands finger.  strange.

I did use the loss of sight in my right eye as an excuse to buy a double barreled rifle (ambidextrous).  when I got some right eye sight back, One day I shot a whitetail left handed from a tree stand; and within a minute another deer came from thee right side; bang right handed.  a 2-for

I'm pretty sure shooting left handed for me is a lost cause.

When I was growing up I didn't know anything about eye dominance. Evidently I compensated for it by closing my left eye when I shot. It just happens now.

Another think I do that I had no idea I did is when I'm shooting a pistol I shoot right handed but line the gun up with my left eye. I didn't know I did that until a buddy was standing behind me and noticed what I was doing.
