We covered a lot of topics but I don't think we talked about this.  What are your thoughts are they really shy creatures that are hiding in the deep forests or are they hiding in the bottom of an empty bottle???????????

Should have been "folk lore"  but it could be a 'lure' also if you like.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Id like to believe that it exists but yet i figure youd see alot more of it if it did exist. All weve heard is tales, plaster molded footprints and the ever so famous blurry video tape thats been seen on t.v. for years. Just recently a native indian from Manitoba claims to have unreal footage of bigfoot that will make us believers but hes copyrighted it and isnt ready to show anyone as of yet which doesnt make sense. Why announce what you have if you dont want anyone to see it. Anyhow im voting for folklore until im proven wrong.

I don't believe that it exists but....what I don't know far outweighs what I do.

Remember  Ishe, the starving indian discovered in the 1920s or 30s ??,  in California? He was the last of his tribe. They had lived within sight of developing California yet no one knew of them.

Then there is the Yeti in Nepal....... and dollars to donuts that the Australian aboriginies have something Yeti-ish too.

Might be something called a "cultural universal"? I seem to remember the term from a basic anthropology course I took in a galaxy, far, far away.

I think they used to exist, and are now extinct. The chupacabras killed them all...

I believe a .30 caliber would be sufficient, with proper placement. What do you suppose the minimum legal caliber should be? I'm sure the old 6.5X55 would do the job, but I would hate to see anyone using someting like a .243.

while i acknowledge that almost anything is possible, i doubt that bigfoot exists. still, there are a LOT of stories, and at least SOME them have to be based on SOMEthing. maybe they did exist and the last one was died off only a hundred or two years ago, i don't know.

the biggest likliehood is that they don't and never did exist, but i wouldn't be surprised if there were some natural explanation which is in-between. keep in mind that the loch ness montster is now pretty much acknowledged to have been a land-locked eel that got fat on trout, around 30 feet long, if i remember correctly. figuring that one of those eels makes it in there every few hundred years, it would account for the sightings and then long periods of non-sightings.1

Bigfoot DID exist, but he died Dec 29, 1890 at Wounded Knee. All because the white man was afraid of a "dance?"

SCI doesn't have any records listed. Wonder if a 6 footer would qualify?

I don't believe in Bigfoot and have yet to hear a convincing enough story.  Of course, I'm reminded of Mr. Sagan's words, "Absence of eveidence is not evidence of absence."  So I suppose I have to keep an open mind but haven't seen anything to suggest in favor of it or against it.

The closest living relatives to bigfoot are a rather large percentage of the "women" that inhabit an upriver area known localy as the town of Sedro-Wooley. (look on a WA. st. map)
