I think I can do something with this slug combo.

Hull

Gas seal

1.005 oz- 440 gr, Slug

I tried 42,43,44,grains of blue dot and shot at 85 yards. The 42 gr load shot the best but quite low. I think I'll do some more refinement and testing with the 44 gr load. I tried them with a mod choke I'll load some more and use a full and move out to 100 yards and see how they shoot. Here is the targets.

Please remember I'm using just a plain 870 with only a bead and smooth bore shooting off shooting sticks.

I just got back from the range, zeroed my slug gun.  Final zero at 100 yds produced < 2" groups, dead on.  Kicks like a mule.  I'm going to clean the barrel and retest after putting it back on the stock, prior to sitting in my tree.  Who was it on here that said slug guns aren't accurate?

I'm using Hastings Laser 3" mag sabot slugs.  Bought a whole bunch last year when they went on sale.

We can't use "Sabots" where shot guns are required, only all lead.I'm using my 870 with the bird barrel and only a bead in our general rifle season.
