well, we can add a cabela's alaskan guide to the list of scopes i've managed to get to puke...

the count is:
cabela's alaskan guide
bushnell
redfield
tasco (2x)
weaver

the good news is that when i bought the a.g., they told me if i manage to break it, just bring it in and get a new one... we'll see if that is still true...

Dakota;

What were the models on the Redfield, Bushnell, & Weaver?  Was it an older Denver Redfield, a Bushnell Trash Hunter or Elite, an El Paso Weaver, or a 98 V9?

denver redfield.

don't recall the weaver for sure - it was the second scope my 7 rem mag went thru (at the time, i was very new to rifles, in fact, that 7 was my first rifle, so i had no clue about optics, etc). i cannot recall for the life of me what the first scope was that puked on that 7... that 7 rem mag, being my first gun and all, really got the tar kicked out of it, and it taught me some hard lessons in optics. it is on its 3rd scope now, a leupold vari-x2 3-9... been on there for about 9 years now, and still going strong... so, to answer your question, i don't know. it was an older one, if that helps?

bushnell was a legend, i believe... that one came on a s/s 7 rem mag i acquired late last year. it survived load development, but wouldn't get/hold a final zero.

cabela's honored their warranty... i walked in and announced my scope was broken. nice young lady behind the desk sympathized w/ me, saying, 'well, that's not good at all. would you like to get your own new one, or want me to get it for you?'

i'll get it mounted up this afternoon... kinda nice to get a new scope - that one was just beat to shit. i've seen some abused scopes before, but i've never seen a decent scope look so rough. not gonna know what to do w/ a purdy scope, though!!!

Wait a minute here Dakota.  What are you getting mounted up?  The scope or the nice young lady behind the desk?

Just for shits and giggles, what actually took a dump on the old AG Dakota?? Always nice to get full info on scopes and such.
