I think we should have a new forum in here that is "Sputter vs. King" and put every post they have bickered between each other in, and all threads, like that "Remington WSM" thing. It is funny as hell reading the stuff, but I don't like it cluttering up areas where more important information is located.

Sputter=Spotty

Tas, I can do it for you if you give me temp. admin. Or you can make the forum, and if I have moderator privs (for  temporary period of time) i can move all the threads and such. I think this would be a good idea.

Why don't we resolve this crap, in THIS thread.  Lets see, KP sold Spot a rifle, Spot sold it, KP chases him from room to room thread to thread and it's getting real old. So boys what's the deal? I've sold many rifles and bought many rifles from friends and many of them again changed hands so what the hell is the deal here? What am I missing? I sold Ron my 30-30 and cheap. If he wants to sell it it's his property now, should I care if he sells it in the future? I've given some very nice rifles to relatives as gifts, now if they sold them I'd be pissed. Was this thing a gift or a sale? Who initiated the deal? This crap is getting real old so get it out on the table and get over it.

Real easy,

King initiated it

Told me that is was a fair enough deal and if it didn't work for me I could get my money back by selling it.

He drove up to meet me and sell the rifle, we drank, I bought him a steak, bought the rifle and tried it.

Couldn't find a place to shoot shil., thing was too heavy for yote hunting, Ran out of dough getting ready for elk hunting, decided to down size for other gear.  Sold it pretty much flat except for the case which I kept.

Gift ?  It was made from left over parts, and shot 1/2"... not a single hole gun.  He told me he had a dozen sitting on his rack and it wasn't a big deal.

That's when all the bitch'n began, will I be getting anything more... ah.. still ain't worth even trying to PM him, but at least I know what a roid is like.

We threaded this out already, I held back on information because frankly it shouldn't be anyone elses business.

If they already resolved it you could have fooled me, and if they have I find no entertainment value out of turning every damn thread into a Romper Room Gone Wild event.

Spot, you're right it shouldn't be anybody elses business, and along the same lines private business shouldn't be drug out here for months on end. But since it was I thought I'd give both of you the chance to finally get this crap over with. I'll assume KP's silence means he'd done with it. Not picking sides, but as usual I'm calling it as I see it and could care less whose feelings I hurt. We should all be big boys here. 99% of the time I could care less how much arguing goes on, especially on political topics, that's the nature of the beast, but this stuff is just plain stupid and getting real old.

Kingpin, how about building me a 1000 yard leveraction sniper rifle, built on a M71 action (of course), with the scope (forgive me lord) mounted on a removable, hinged rack screwed on to the buttplate?  Get it all built and send it to me.  I'll put the check in the mail shortly thereafter.

Let's see,

New McMillan classic stock.........$350

New Krieger Barrel.....................$375

2 Jewell triggers

(.5 oz and a 2# one).................. $380

Used Remington action

(which I was asked if it was "hot) $200

Labor....@ $50 an hour...............$500

Custom made scope base............$75

Pellican Case.............................$150

Total........................................$1950

Learning about ones code of ethics.........................Priceless

I too have bought lots of guns from friends but I told them up front whether i was going to add them to the collection or, I was going to pull them apart to do other things with them, or possibly sell them and asked if they wanted first shot if I was going to sell them. In some cases, they bought them back when I was ready to sell. About the only thing I am guilty of is selling a quality rifle at a bargain basement price to a "friend" who I was under the impression really wanted something better than what was available. Then I hear how the stainless steel barrel was rusted all over (totally untrue,) the gun wasn't accurate (pure bullshit,) and was I sure that the action was not hot or stolen. (Wait, how am I supposed to take that last one with a smile.) Yes, a typical case of "friendly ethics" if I ever saw them. Do I have grounds to want to choke someone out? Not wanting to keep romper room open any later than usual, but the facts are the facts. THAT'S the straight truth of the matter. All I can say is, from where I stand, I have every right to be pissed.....................Kingpin

KP, so does it help with being pissed if you chase Spot all over the board? Look Spot has gotten under my skin on more occasions than I can count but in this case you're just chasing him around like a bitter ex-wife and it looks a little foolish. I can understand why it would piss you off, I've sorta been there. But it's a done deal let it go, it just isn't worth the aggravation to be pissed off all the time, been there too. Take it out on Mule, he's the resident whipping boy, by his choice.

Jon.I can see why you`d be mad.I would too bud after I invested my time and expertise on a rifle only to be told it was a peice of shit to begin with. You know it wasn`t and thats what matters. You did your best on it for a "friend" and you learned a hard lesson from that "friend".At least you know now to never touch anything else for this person again.I`ve seen the same things out of folks and after they burn me once they don`t get a second chance.I`m not saying you are wrong for sticking a fork in him on here when you get a chance but its sort of a moot point. Most all of us know the story now and I for one know you do excellent work and Ill leave it at that.Im not taking sides just saying that all the cards are on the table and let it go at that.Your reputation as a gunsmith stands on its own merits here and anything implied or said about it over the weapon in question is likely bs for one reason or another.Just my thoughts KP,Its not worth your time anymore.....

King,

Lets stick to facts, shall we.

The stock was used it had some chips and the opening at the bottom was filled with bedding material, and had no floor plate to cover the mismatched in the color. New... I own a new one, that one didn't even compare (but yes it was a used Mc).

When I toook the action out of the stock and cleaned it powdered rust came out of the pits.  I asked you where you got it, not if it was hot, but that's how you reacted.  I cleaned it up and used Oxy stuff from brownells to kill the rusting.

Oh the custom mount - that was a pleasure, the mount screws were drilled off center and I couldn't get the scope on paper with the thing, I expect you knew that.

So as the story goes we met and you showed me the rifle, I hesistated because it wasn't what I imagined.  You told me I could always sell it to recoop the money pretty easy.  I decided to try out your work, and see if the rifle would shoot clover leafs, I mean come on with the parts list you mentioned....

Anyway, it shot good but not great and with the stock looking like a beater, and the rust thing I let it go for $350 to one of Max's friends (an old guy who wanted a project gun).

I felt there wasn't any major err on King's part so I didn't say anything, just being a guy.  That was until he started back'n off on his promise i could sell it and started chasing me from thread to thread.  Grow up and get over it.

sputter, the facts are in my last post, and I am done with it. One other fact that I omitted is that you are a gaping red anal orifice and I will thank you to tread lightly where I am concerned. We both share this forum and that's something that probably won't change unless you cry to have me banned (we all know what a pm whiner you are.) Probably the only reason now that you're irritated with me is because as of late, your questions were no better than some kid would ask, and you ask so many questions, it seems like you have a two year old mentality. Then bring up old news from bullshit artists in the rags you read, and call it facts because YOU read it. You ought to stick to your video shooting games and keep looking for your football, as it is painfully obvious that you haven't seen it since the kickoff. I am at your service Sir.................................Kingpin
